The “YuanWu” collection is inspired by the visual identity of CGTN’s Animal Puzzle Series, built around the design philosophy of “All Things Emerge from the Same Origin.” The collection incorporates iconic animal symbols from around the world — including the Chinese panda, British lion, French Gallic rooster, German federal eagle, Australian kangaroo, and Kenyan African elephant — weaving them into interconnected abstract line patterns that symbolize cultural exchange and global integration.
Through a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western visual elements, the design vividly reflects CGTN’s mission statement: presenting the world from a Chinese perspective while enabling the world to “See the Difference.”
The original visual identity has received multiple prestigious international design awards, including the 2018 Red Dot Design Award, the 2019 German Design Award (Silver), and the 14th China 4A Golden Seal Award.
Drawing inspiration from the Animal Puzzle Series, the “YuanWu” collection transforms artistic concepts into functional lifestyle products, seamlessly combining aesthetics with practicality. The series has since evolved into a comprehensive line of cultural merchandise and derivatives products supporting CMG’s international communication initiatives.
